All of our beautiful British new & manufactured Silver Snake Jewellery is hand made in our factory workshop located in the historic Birmingham Jewellery Quarter and is independently tested & hallmarked at the Birmingham Assay Office.
History or our Snake Bangles & Jewellery
Smith & Pepper was founded by Mr. Smith and his Uncle Mr. Pepper who were based in the Birmingham Jewellery quarter from 1899 to 1981. They were renowned for their high-quality jewellery, most notably Egyptian themed snake designs, which grew in popularity after the discovery of King Tutankhamun’s tomb in 1922.
Beechfield Chains which was the origin for our striking snake bangle.
These snake patterns have been passed down from generation to generation and now British Jewellery Workshop is the latest jewellery Manufacture to handcraft this style of Egyptian themed snake design. Our snakes are our most time-consuming piece of jewellery due to the unique methods of manufacture, followed by intricate hand engraving and ruby set eyes.
