9ct Yellow Gold 25x17mm Cross of Lorraine with belcher Chain

9ct yellow gold 25x17mm cross of lorraine. Handmade and hand polished in our Birmingham Factory in the Historic Jewellery Quarter, England, UK it comes to you carefully prepared in a black leatherette presentation gift box and is fitted with a 1.4mm wide bright cut oval belcher chain necklace. Please note that weights can vary with handmade or hand polished products, this is an average weight that we would expect the item to weigh.

The Cross of Lorraine or Croix de Lorraine was originally a heraldic cross. The two-barred cross consists of a vertical line crossed by two shorter horizontal bars. In most renditions, the horizontal bars are "graded" with the upper bar being the shorter, though variations with the bars of equal length are also seen. The Lorraine name has come to signify several cross variations, including the patriarchal cross with its bars near the top.

The Jerusalem cross, also known as Crusaders' cross or the "Five-fold Cross", is a heraldic cross or Christian symbol consisting of a large cross potent surrounded by four smaller Greek crosses, one in each quadrant. It is not to be confused with the Lorraine cross, which has also been called the "Jerusalem cross". There are variants to the design, also known as "Jerusalem cross", with either the four crosslets also in the form of Crosses potent, or conversely with the central cross also in the form of a Greek cross.
